About SMARTAudit

SMARTAudit is a unique tool from BRE that audits in detail the source, type, amount, cause and cost of waste on your sites and reports this information in an easily understood format

The collection of waste data onsite is through SMARTAudit software loaded on to a pocket PC (at least 16MB of system memory is needed). Data is downloaded on to the web-based SMARTAudit database via a secure company homepage.

Through your company homepage and individual project pages you can access detailed charts and tables created by the tool and generate reports with only a few clicks of the mouse. Reports are tailored to your requirements, for example weekly or monthly reports for all or specific waste product groups. Such reports will show the true cost of waste and identify actions to reduce costs and use of resource.

SMARTAudit is available through buying a one-year licence. The software can be downloaded on to a pocket PC via your online SMARTAudit account. Those charged with inputting data must attend a training day at BRE to ensure they know how to use the tool accurately so that actions arising are built on solid facts.

To use SMARTAudit effectively, trained employees will need to log waste from all containers on a project at least daily, depending on the rate at which waste is being generated. The guideline for the amount of time required for waste data collection onsite is estimated to be three hours for a development of 80 houses.

SMARTAudit users include, among others Alandale Logistics, Bovis Lend Lease, BP, Countryside Properties, Tarmac Topfloor, Taylor Woodrow and Willmott Dixon.
